Seeking God, Studying His Word, and Following Christ—While "On the Way"

Follow Reason

Andrew J. Robison V, July 27, 2022July 27, 2022

One can talk all day about what God says about Christ in His Word, but one must have a foundational belief in God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ to believe or even care about what He says. These three pillars are the foundation upon which everything about the Christian faith is built.

Existence of God

→ To prove the existence of God, one needs only to find one ounce of evidence for Him at one place in the universe at one time. To prove His nonexistence, one must prove that there has never been evidence of God in any corner of the universe at any time throughout history. One would need to be omnipresent, omniscient, outside of time, and essentially omnipotent. To prove the nonexistence of God, one would need to be God—in which case, God’s existence would be proven.

Authenticity of the Bible

→ The Bible was written over a period of approximately 1500 years by 40 writers. About 5000 early copies of the original texts have been found, and the earliest date to just a few years after their writing. Despite the feels attempts of some to find contradictions in the Word, there are truly none. Such a cohesive book full of prophecy fulfillment, factual history, and scientific foreknowledge given by its ultimate Author can only be the true, authoritative, divinely inspired Word of God.

Deity of Christ

→ If there is a God, and the Bible is true, then the man named Jesus who lived 2000 years ago is truly who He said He was: the Son of God. He lived, performed miracles, was crucified on a cross, died, then rose from the dead three days later. After he was resurrected, he appeared to over 500 people at many different times and places. If his resurrection was a hoax, it would have been quickly disproven like the many others who claimed to be the Messiah.

Christ died for the forgiveness of our sins. The Word of God tells us what to do in response. The Eternal Creator of the universe loves you and desires you to follow Him. Will you seek that truth? Will you follow reason? Ω

But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.
